Yi-Chung Chen, originally from Taiwan, holds an MFA from Boston University in Lighting Design. She is currently working as Resident Lighting Designer at Martha Graham Dance Company, Lighting Director at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and designing lights for live performance at various venues in New York. Her designs have been seen in NY at New York City Center, David H. Koch Theater, The Joyce, Chautauqua Theater Company, La Mama, Kitchen Theatre Company, Yangtze Repertory Theatre, Shadowland Stages, HERE Arts Center, New Ohio Theater, The Flea, Dixon Place, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, Judson Memorial Church, St. Marks Church, Queens Botanical Garden, etc; internationally at Palais Garnier, National Taichung Theater, NCPA Beijing, Wuzhen Theatre Festival, Festival d'Avignon OFF, among others. She has previously worked as Design Fellow at Chautauqua Theater Company in NY, Assistant Lighting Designer at The Living Theatre and Gotham Chamber Opera in NY, Florida Grand Opera in FL, also Huntington Theatre Company and Boston Lyric Opera in Boston.
